Little Bear Creek Tree Farm is located approximately 11-1/2 miles east of Colfax, and 40 miles west of Truckee. Take Interstate 80 to the Alta Exit (#146). At the end of the off ramp, make a left (if heading East) or make a right (if heading West) and go about 1/4 mile to the first road on the right named "Alta Bonnynook Road". Continue on Alta Bonnynook Road about 1/3 mile (into the Village of Alta) and make a left onto "Alta Powerhouse Road" just past the P.G. & E. Office. Follow Alta Powerhouse Road 1/2 mile to a private road on the left named "Meadow Road" which is next to the P.G. & E. substation. On weekends look for a parking attendant at this point to direct you. Continue down the hill, crossing the canal, and bear to the left. After passing the yellow house on the right, cross Little Bear Creek and after passing the trout pond on your left a parking attendant will assist you further. (Motorhomes, trailers and extra-wide loads will need to make special arrangements with the parking attendant before you enter Meadow Road - at the P.G. & E. substation).
